This is it. We are down to the wire. The Presidential Elections are tomorrow. Tomorrow is the day that 320 million people say goodbye to our president and leader and say hello to the next one. This election has been anything but normal, anything but sane. Everybody has been praying that it ends fast, and it is finally ending tomorrow.
This election cycle has been interesting, to say the least. We have seen a major party elect someone with zero political experience. We have seen the rise of third party candidates as serious alternatives. And we have seen a true threat to Democracy, as we know it. I mean for the love of god, Donald Trump has said he will not accept the results of the election outright. We all know that since he began his campaign he has been calling the system rigged, and claiming that if he loses on Election Day it is because the system cheated him out of his hard earned victory. I think this statement is a bunch of bullsh*t, but that is neither here nor there.
What is important is the voting itself. It is our constitutional right and our civic duty to vote. But that right and duty has been threatened. Not from within our nation, but from outside, The Director of SITE Intelligence Group tweeted out ISIS media has called for an attack on American voters. The calls from ISIS are similar to what they did before Ramadan this year, when they called for ‘Bloody Ramadan.’ ISIS is threatening our democracy and they are calling on American Muslims to abstain form the vote and to be the ones to attack people.
Even worse that ISIS doing their almost regular call to arms against America and the West, is the actual Intel (though it is low level) that Al Qaeda has threatened an attack around Election Day. They have specifically threatened New York City, Texas and Virginia. I would not look too much into these threats as one of their main purposes, as with all terrorism, is to instill fear. If we allow these threats to make us afraid to go out and vote, than we have lost before we ever got in the game.
Don’t let these threats deter you. Don’t let history pass you by. Make sure that you get out and vote tomorrow, it is your right and duty as a citizen. More importantly, if you don’t vote you can’t complain for the next four years about our president. Honestly it doesn’t matter whom you vote for, just that you vote. Please remember to vote down ballot as well.
What are you waiting for, an invitation? Go Vote!
